Our Projects
TEEMO has been reaching out to the community by promoting and implementing several environmental projects. Our focus it to accomplish at least 3 (it can vary considering yearly working plan) successfully projects every year nationally, and at least 1 successfully international project
1. Marine Conservation
TEEMO is dedicated to preserving marine ecosystems by protecting coral reefs, mangroves, seagrasses, and marine species essential for biodiversity and livelihoods. Our initiatives align with global frameworks like the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), promoting conservation and sustainable use of marine resources. Through collaborations with organizations such as UNEP and local stakeholders, we undertake habitat restoration, community capacity-building, and awareness campaigns to address challenges like climate change, overfishing, and pollution.
2.Clean Energy
TEEMO is committed to promoting clean, renewable energy solutions as part of our mission to combat climate change and foster sustainable development. We work to expand access to affordable, eco-friendly energy sources like solar energy,Wind and biogas while encouraging energy efficiency in communities such as Clean cooking. Our efforts align with global frameworks such as the Paris Agreement and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), which aim to ensure access to clean, reliable, and sustainable energy for all. By partnering with stakeholders, we support innovation, provide education , and implement projects that reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
3. Plastic Pollution Advocacy
TEEMO is at the forefront of addressing the global challenge of plastic pollution. We advocate for reducing plastic waste by promoting sustainable alternatives, supporting recycling initiatives, and raising awareness about the impact of plastics on marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Our advocacy aligns with international frameworks such as the Basel Convention on Plastic Waste and the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) resolutions on marine litter and microplastics.
4.Study with a Tree
This project was established by TEEMO in collaboration with UNEP and Global Youth Parliament. The project have been focused on young scholars in primary and secondary school enhancing planting trees and caring for their trees throughout their days at school. Currently, the project is covering 8 primary and 7secondary schools in Ubungo district, Gairo District and Dodoma Urban. More than 15,000 trees have been planted under this project reaching out to more than 15,200 students.
5.Smart Farming
TEEMO promotes smart farming practices to enhance agricultural productivity while safeguarding the environment. By integrating technology, sustainable techniques, and climate-resilient strategies, we empower farmers to use resources efficiently, improve yields, and reduce environmental impacts. Our approach aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) and Goal 13 (Climate Action), focusing on sustainable agriculture to address food security and climate change. Through training programs, access to innovative tools, and partnerships with agricultural experts, We help communities transition to smarter, more sustainable farming practices.
6.Hero & Voice of Enviroment
project is designed to empower individuals and communities to become champions of environmental conservation. Through advocacy and capacity-building initiatives, we equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources to address pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, deforestation, and pollution. This project aligns with global frameworks like the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing environmental stewardship and community-led action. Why we do what we do?
Youth empowerment through environmental project is critical and inevitable. TEEMO has several projects focusing on empowering and promoting youth generation becoming environmental ambassadors at the very young age, hopefully this will prepare environmentalist of the coming days and save the world from climate change issues.
