Plastic Pollution Advocacy

What we do

TEEMO is committed to addressing the pervasive issue of plastic pollution, which poses a significant threat to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. Our plastic pollution advocacy initiatives aim to reduce plastic waste at its source by promoting sustainable alternatives, supporting recycling efforts, and advocating for stricter policies on plastic production and disposal.

We align our advocacy with international agreements such as the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal and resolutions adopted by the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) to combat marine litter and microplastics. These frameworks guide our efforts to encourage industries and governments to adopt sustainable practices and innovate eco-friendly alternatives to plastic products.

At the community level, TEEMO leads awareness campaigns to educate the public about the impacts of plastic pollution and the importance of sustainable waste management. We work with local organizations and stakeholders to implement clean-up drives, promote recycling programs, and advocate for the reduction of single-use plastics.
